Situated along an all-important commercial nuclei, Kemal Attaturk Avenue, the proposed structure was demanded an architectural intervention that is qualified through contextual tangents-place, culture, society and time. Originally envisioned as a mixed use development, housing a commercial tower atop a shopping arcade the design to reestablish it into a five-star hotel in later parts of 2015 demanded an intervention through refurbishment and a complete overhaul in terms of how it appeared. Volumezero’s involvement was the first step towards this policy realignment.

The architectural expression is borne out of Omni directionality. A vertical mass plugs into a complimentary base pair that generates a morphological expression for the entire structure. The resulting volume forms a “L” shaped mass that imparts a sense of stability and inherent functionality. Within a minimalist framework, modernity and an impeccable sense of luxury were the essence of this design. As a visual datum along the commercial spine the edifice would command visual importance and truly emerge as an iconic landmark in this city.
