About
Mika Cornerstone presents a striking composition defined by a sophisticated interplay between solid mass and geometric transparency. The building’s facade is anchored by a prominent, fair-faced concrete and limestone-clad external frame that creates a bold vertical screen, giving the structure a sense of permanence and monumental presence. In contrast, the corner condition is expressed through an elegant, light glass curtain wall system with thin horizontal metal louvers. This subtle alternation between heavy structural masonry framing and light, reflective glazing gives the building a distinct dual-identity, capturing both structural strength and modern architectural transparency.
Idea
Designed to maximize internal functionality while responding to tropical environmental conditions, the building incorporates deeply recessed floor plates and integrated horizontal sun-shading systems. The structural exoskeleton acts as a protective shell, shielding interior office spaces from direct solar heat gain while facilitating generous daylight penetration through the glass envelope. At the street level, the building opens up via expansive glass storeys designed to house commercial banking and retail services, establishing an active visual link with the urban context. Through its clean lines, balanced materiality, and rhythmic grid facade, Mika Cornerstone stands as a refined benchmark of contemporary commercial architecture.
